ABOUT WARREN
Meet D.A. Montgomery
YOUR DISTRICT ATTORNEY
District Attorney Warren Montgomery has spent his life devoted to his family, his career, and his constituents. Warren has held the same strong moral values throughout his education and public life, leading him to become the leader he is today. Discover what shaped Warren into the transformative public servant he has become.
Early Life
Warren Montgomery is the third of six children, born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana. Warren was heavily influenced by his parents who emphasized both strong values and a tenacious work ethic. Warren looks back on his childhood vacations and long family road trips as his formative years. It was then that his parents instilled the belief that fighting for what’s right, even if against the odds, is a noble choice.
Warren’s grandmother preached the Depression-era philosophy, “Fear less, hope more; eat less, chew more; whine less, breath more; talk less, say more; hate less, love more; and all good things will be yours.”

Education
Warren graduated from Jesuit High School in 1973 where he was an active member of the wrestling team. From there, he went on to attend LSU where he earned a degree in Economics. Finally, Warren decided to study law at LSU Law School to prepare for a life in the legal community.

FAMILY
Warren and his wife, Val, married 35 years ago. After raising their four biological children into adulthood, Warren and Val added their youngest, Elijah. Their days are once again filled with homework, Cub Scouts, swim team, carpool lines, and family adventures.
Career
Warren became an aggressive federal prosecutor of major drug crimes in the 1980’s following law school graduation. After operating a business internationally, he brought these experiences to the field of law where he ran his own private practice in Covington, LA for many years.

Public Life
Fed up with the backroom deals of his predecessor, Warren decided to run for District Attorney. His platform was built on “Qualifications Not Connections” and his message was that of resolve, reform, and results.
Warren won the district attorney seat and was sworn into office in January, 2015. District Attorney Warren Montgomery has since radically transformed his office and seeks to finish the job he started.
